C-HIGHER partners with nonprofit organisations to create history/heritage-themed games that tell insightful stories about the past, and/or meaningfully engage with cultural heritage. We organise cultural events and educational projects, leveraging games as tools for learning, community building, and cultural expression. Our collaborations include both digital and analog games developed for museums, heritage centers, and civic organizations – from large state institutions to small grassroots NGOs. In today’s increasingly complex political landscape, we recognise the growing role of games in the defence and resilience sectors – as instruments for crisis simulation, resilience planning, counterpropaganda, and peace education.
Internally, we are proud to work closely with the student club “UGranie” [“University Gaming”], based at the Faculty of History but recruiting members UG-wide. About 200 people strong, UGranie predates C-HIGHER by two years. They are a key community partner, organising game nights, volunteering at conferences, and representing UG at student events across Poland. In November 2024, UGranie board members wrote two grants for an in-house student project competition, winning first and second prizes. Moreover, C-HIGHER has inspired the creation of a Transformative Games Section within the student club “Politicus” at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
