Education

C-HIGHER is at the forefront of game-based learning and game design education. Our Historical Game Design BA program integrates project-based learning with practical industry experiences. Believe it or not, there are only 3 lectures across 6 semesters. Students benefit from expert-led workshops, international mobility opportunities, and hands-on internships. Future plans include postgraduate and interdepartmental programs to foster a new generation of educators and designers specializing in history-themed games.

Our teaching staff includes instructors with gamedev experience. Most of them work full-time outside the University, dedicating some of their precious spare time to UG. This is the cadre of industry experts active in our first-ever freshman year of Historical Game Design (2024/25).

  • Paulina Michałowska, Senior Product Developer at Winning Moves
  • Krzysztof Szafrański, Business Development Director at Rebel.pl
  • Piotr Pacynko, CEO at False Prophet
  • Alex Polin, Lecturer at PJATK (formerly – Chronospace, Kurshi LLC, Corgy Games)
  • Bartosz Odorowicz, Programmes and Cooperation Coordinator at Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk (formerly – Phalanx Games, Trefl, Into the Unknown)

The strong presence of the tabletop game industry reflects the analogue focus of the freshman year—a focus that will shift as we go digital in the second year.

We welcome knowledge (and staff) exchange and partnerships with other game programmes around the world. We cooperate with:
